Is CamGuess free?
Yes, it's free, with no ads. Your first game needs no sign-up. After that, a free account lets you keep playing as much as you like and join the leaderboard.
How is CamGuess different from GeoGuessr?
Instead of Street View photos, you watch live webcams: what you see is happening right now, with today's weather, light and traffic.
Where do the webcams come from?
They are public webcams run by third parties: tourism offices, cities, road agencies, YouTube live channels and webcam networks such as Windy. They are spread all over the world.
How does scoring work?
Each game has 5 rounds. A guess within 30 km (about 19 miles) earns the full 5,000 points, and the score drops the farther away you are. The best total is 25,000 points.
Can I play with friends?
Yes. Create a room, share the link or the 6-character code, and up to 20 players guess the same webcams at the same time. Choose 5, 10 or 15 rounds, 60 seconds each.
What if a webcam is dark or not working?
Broken, black or frozen streams are replaced automatically, and you can skip up to 2 webcams per game.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. It runs in any browser on iPhone, Android, tablet or computer, with no app to install. You can add it to your home screen.
